What is Man@United all about? |
Man@United is an informal Christian group of men that meet twice a month.
Our objective:
Our intention is to establish a sincere fellowship between men, and in so doing to strengthen our fellowship with Jesus.
The group is therefore very informal and the message we seek is enrichment in the experiences that God lays on each one of us in our everyday lives…personal messages from the heart.
Our format:
We meet twice a month in two different forums.
1. On the second Saturday morning of every month the Group meets at a breakfast venue to witness the true-life experiences and teachings of everyday guest speakers and enjoy personal fellowship over a wholesome meal.
2. Every fortnight between the breakfast meetings the Group meets at the 'Coffee Table Forum', a relaxing venue at the Somerset West United Church, where various scriptural topics and viewpoints are discussed around the table, along with any other biblical or personal issues that may arise.
Our motivation:
There are many Christian ‘business’ forums that are accessible to general folk of the Helderberg basin, but not many Christian ‘social’ forums specifically for men.
This is an opportunity for “men to support men” using all the principles of fellowship that the bible has taught us and the real life stories of people that have found the glory of Christ through circumstance and/or difficulties.
In the process we explore the bible with the express purpose of discovering the truth through discussion and debate. We believe there is a crying need for this kind of interaction amongst men, particularly those that tend to keep their troubles and opinions to themselves in the fear that their ‘masculinity’ may be compromised.
We call on Christian-minded men that are united by the common need to know and understand more about Jesus and to share personal insights and opinions to the benefit of their fellow men.
This group is totally non-denominational although its origins are rooted in the Somerset West United Church.
Anyone is welcome to join this group where meaningful discussion is encouraged and creative insights are explored in reaching for the truth.
